“Turn your gaze heavenward and leave this restless world behind.”– Dante Alighieri, Divine Comedy

Produced by Akademi, Paradiso: Man’s Enduring Search for Perfection is a new 40-minute dance performance inspired by the final part of Dante’s Divine Comedy and the astrological influences of the navagrahas (nine planets) of the Hindu mythology.

Paradiso is originally directed by Hilary Westlake (renowned for her large-scale work with Artichoke and Disney) and choreographed by Jose Agudo, assistant choreographer to Akram Khan.  It also features an original score by Bernhard Schimpelsberger

The event is designed to be a flexible show and is available for touring from summer 2017 onwards. Initially, a day time show, the event will also have a lighting design available for evening performances.
