In Search Of Divinity Through Classical Expressions

Nehru Centre, London

July 14

Shiju Menon captivates and enthralls through his expressions and nuances. An expert in four Indian classical dance forms including Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Mohinattam and Kathakali, Menon is the disciple of Guru Smt Geeta Padmakumar, Guru Shri Kishore Mosalikanti and Guru Smt Regatta Girija Chandran.

His inborn talent as a classical dancer has won him many accolades, including Kalaprathiba at the state level in Kerala. As part of Nrithyamalika, Shiju Menon will present Kuchipudi Margam, which means path.

The programme will start with an invocation to Vighneshwara, the Lord who removes obstacles. This will be followed by Shree Krishna Leela Tarangam, an important piece in the repertoire of Kuchipudi, then followed by a Devi Stuti. The evening will conclude with a Thillana, which involves intricate movement of the footwork.
